What a sweet, sorta second chance story. Dorothy and Ryan grew up together as really good friends.Circumstances parted them. Now there back and maybe, just maybe things will work to their advantage.Two different people, two different lives, pulled in two different directions.Where will each end up and how will they eachcontinue to live the lives each has made for themselves.With a lot obstacles and surprises, you need to read the book to find out.I was disappointed at the end at first, but then it made sense. You will see.I would definitely recommend this book, hands down.
Love's Sweet Cadence beautifully explores the depths of the human spirit that overcomes adversity and achieves peace and love that brings happiness to Dorothy and Ryan as they pursue God's plan for their lives . Riveria exquisitely describes their passion for music and for each other.
An enjoyable story of second chances in a small town. I love Dorothy’s character, weakness and strength. As usual, J. Riviera’s writing is a pleasure to read.
A Love Song to Cherish is an enjoyable sweet Christian Contemporary romance with a great second chance at love theme. No one knew, ten years apart, returning to a small town, music and being asked to render musical gifts at a wedding would gift Ryan and Dorothy with so much. Although they may appear to have it going on in the eyes of others, they could not fool each other. They knew it was more going on behind the smoke screen. Dorothy on a quest to fulfill her new-found purpose and continue recovering as an addict and Ryan on the quest to ask the hard questions and find purpose may very well find what they need in the small town of Cherish.Throughout their quest, the one constant is their love for music and the craft. Its undeniable presence brought their connection to light in a way they both could not deny. Although ten years was a long time ago, the music and small-town memories and true friendship made the time apart seem like yesterday. A few trips around town and a few sweet kisses brought it all back; their friendship and love that in their teenage years neither dared to explore.Josie Riviera did a fantastic job showing the vulnerability of both Ryan and Dorothy and the trust they both shared in their friendship. Faith, family, and friendship ruled supreme in helping them both find their true purpose, way back to God and true love. Even though they had plans of their own regarding who they were and their mapped-out success, they found that God had the perfect plan for them both. I really enjoyed reading Ryan and Dorothy’s story; I got such a down-home feeling.This is a great inspirational love story that you will find enjoyable from the beginning to the end. Although a quick read, you will not be disappointed. I was left smiling at the end.I look forward to the next book in the Cherish series.
A Love Song to Cherish by Josie RivieraStarts out with Dorothy and she had not wanted to come back home ever again. Nothing worked out-her boyfriend found another and she was once alone again.She is in withdrawal from opiods and the symptoms could last a few years...She's heavily into music, especially at churches. Health issues kept her from playing her musical instruemnt.She's only back in her hometown for her brother...his wedding to Alice and they wanted her to play. Ryan (a nerd) will be the singer...she'd not seen him for years when she left to find fame and fortune.Ryan is accomplished worldwide. He's not found a reason to go back to church but recalls the feeling it left him with.What I like about his book are the unpredictable scenes, caring and such inspirational support. Love how their secrets came out with no judgment.Note from the author, recipe and other works from the author and about the author are highlighted at the end and acknowledgements.Excerpt from A Christmas to Cherish is also included.Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.
Love’s Sweet Cadence is a beautiful Christian Romance. Two close high school friends return home to Sweet Grove, Texas to provide the music for the wedding of Dorothy Thompson’s brother. Dorothy, who is to be the vocalist’s accompanist, comes home with fears of failure as her dreams of being a concert pianist have fallen apart. She does not know that her old friend Ryan Edwards, now a successful opera star, has come to sing at the wedding.Where will the renewal of their friendship take them? Have their lives diverged so much that they can never be more than friends? Can bringing Ryan back to his faith help bring them together? You must read the book to find out what obstacles they need to overcome if they want this reunion to be more than just a short rekindling of their old friendship.The primary characters are well developed and very real. The story flows smoothly and I love the way the story ends. Although this is a stand-alone novella, I can see the potential for a follow up book. (Josie Riviera, if you are reading this, consider that a not so subtle hint).I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.
