I like this book because all of the puzzles are 'Beware! Very Challenging'. Although no advanced techniques are required for solving, the puzzles will make you think.
Not quite as hard as I would have liked. I've only done 15 so far, but only a few were really challenging. Are any of the Will Shortz sudoku books really harder? I wish they were rated. Got the feeling they could have had the same title followed by successive numbers.
The book was weird because it did not have the level of the puzzle on the pages. I usually only do Very Challenging, or, I especially like Mind Bending. I still like the book as it has one puzzle to a page which gives a big enough grid to jot down possible numbers.
Wow. These are some tough puzzles! I started out at the beginning of the book and struggled for awhile but am now solving most. I find myself checking my solution as I go along, though, after my earlier failures. Definitely the most challenging book of these I found.
Great puzzles. But a paperback, on cheap unbleached newsprint making it hard to see pencil marks to erase your mistakes. So unless you use only ballpoint pen and make no mistakes, I would not recommend it.
Too difficult for me and I thought I was good at these.
Challenging but not over the top.
These puzzles were exactly the difficulty level I expected !!
